Idea three

The other idea that i had was to take these things you normally see as ephemera which have a short life span and change them into something ever lasting. like a piece of art, a series of collages using just ephemera. have it as a digital piece so the user can rollover the image and see all the ephemera that went into creating that piece.


I created a piece in the similar style to grafitti, so the things you normally see on a ephemera as graffitti.

Idea 2

Also the thing with ephemera like leaflets is that someone will spend along time design them ant then the company will use them for a few months or so then they will be no good. The great designs will be loss. So I also had the idea of having of using graphics from old epherma to create new designs.



When I was looking at ephemera I was thinking about how much of a waste ephemera is because most people just thrown it away, either in the bin or on the floor. So I was thinking about how you can create new ephemera from old ephemera and not just by using it for recycled paper.
I like this idea but am not sure it would realisticly work in the design industry.

Idea one

I was thinking about how students always collect loads of use less stuff such as ephemera because they think it loks good or funny, and they put it on there walls.
So i was looking at collecting pictures of peoples walls and at what sort of stuff people collect, there are some images below of peoples walls.

Artists

When looking at ephemera I was wondering how artists could use this in there work and weather anyone did. Then I came across Peter Blake who produced some collage work using ephemera, the main pieces I looked at where from the Alphabet 1991, which was a series of screen prints based on a series of collages. The twenty-six images reveal his lifelong love of order and categonisation by depicting one of his many favourite subjects to represent each letter. Below are some artist's work

After my first spider diagram i then started to look into differant types of ephemera, old ephemera and new ephemera. The images from this are documented in my sketchbook

Wot is ephemera:
*ephemera is used to describe the class of a published single sheet or page which are meaant to be thrown away after one use.

*printed document with a short intended life span

Nothing documents history quite like ephemera pieces of paer representing everyday life in the days gone by.
